Woman FIRED Over Inflammatory Email About Gays

I received emails about the union that took place between Michael K. Cole & Jamil Smith Cole a little over a week ago. Now it seems that SOMEBODY got fired for sending out a response to the photos of the two men via her company email. Shared email services such as the ones used at work are NO JOKE! In the past, I have advised folks to leave me out of ANY forwards, no matter how tame they may be. Big brother is ALWAYS watching. Here is the message that Sandra Bradley wrote (and subsequently lost her job for)! Peep her employers response and more details via the link below!

“I can’t believe this wedding. It’s 2 men. They don’t smile in a lot of pictures and they look like a few brothers I’ve seen in the streets looking STRAGHT. Black women can’t get a break, either our men want another man, a white woman (or other nationality that’s light with straight hair), they are locked up in jail or have a “use to be” fatal disease. I’m beginning to believe Eve was a black woman and we Black women are paying for all the world’s sins through her actions (eating the apple).”

I just want to point out the wedding was here in Minneapolis.. and I WILL be making an appointment with Michael Cole really soon.

  2. Say It Aint So Joe Says:

I don’t think she should have been fired either and I'm pro gay. She was just bitching and complaining about why she has no man.

  3. Jasmine Says:

I think it was more about misuse of company e-mail and Morehouse wanting to make a statement.

  4. oOjayjayOo Says:

Ugh @ these responses…OF COURSE she shouldve been fired. The point was she was using a Colleges email address to express her racist and homophobic views. If she wanted to express how she felt, she shouldve used her own private email address. I bet if it was a white woman talkin bout 2 blk people, your thoughts would be different. The point is Morehouse College doesnt accept any kinda of bigotry and they handled that situation accordingly…THE END!

  5. Joja86 Says:

She wasn't being homophobic…more liek voicing frustration. Racial email discussion get passed all the time through college listservs like NYU..its was a discussion amongst her friends….not like she sent it through a club organization listserv. I use my school email for everything…

  6. Jay Says:

the true issue here is that you have a bitter black woman who is more than likely Overweight, Unattractive, Very Bitter, and Obviously Ignorant. For some reason, she can't figure out why she cant hook a man with all of these attributes. I tell you.

  7. Meg Says:

Dag, did you have to throw in the overweight though? Lol

  8. Keyana Says:

    O.K.! I mean damn!!!, LOL!!!

  9. Ms. Behaving Says:

Let this be a lesson to us all…When in doubt, use your PERSONAL email address!!

  10. Arrielle Brown Says:

I agree with you Jia. Big brother is always watching. I find it crazy at how much people willingly share on social networks like facebook and twitter.

  11. SweetestThing Says:

Its funny how ppl have already painted this woman a certain type just because she disapproves of gays. I dont think she should've been fired either, maybe reprimanded and reminded of company policy regarding email use, but this decision was entirely political. The damn president of Morehouse probably had the email sitting in his inbox. I agree with everything she said, does that mean I'm overweight, unattractive, bitter and ignorant? No, it just means I am a black woman who doesnt like to see black men who are gay. Everybody's entitled to their opinion, I hate she had to be the sacrificial lamb just for Morehouse to keep an image.

  12. MsYoung81 Says:

Well sweetie, you shouldnt. It may come back and bite you in the ass. Everyone that you work with or go to school with is not your friend. You never know when them people will stab you in the back to get a head. You may eat lunch together and talk at work or outside of work, but you never really know what that person will do to you the first chance they get.

  13. MsYoung81 Says:

Morehouse doesnt have to keep an image. It just doesnt want a lot from the LGBT community. Could you image the fall out from the LGBT students and employees there if they did not fire her? Once something like this is made public then of course something has to be done.

You also made a statement saying that you dont like to see BLACK gay men. So, are you saying that as long as they are white or women, you dont care? But if you see two black men together all you can think about is how you are some how being shorted? That is crazy.

  14. MsYoung81 Says:

It is not that people who do not like gays do not have a voice. You have every right to your opinion, but the problems comes when you try and force your beliefs on to other people. You wouldnt like it if someone made a rant about how they cant stand to see colored people and it makes them sick to see their race with another black person. It is all the same thing. If that is how she felt then she should have made it private to people she could express that too. Not to the people at her job.

  15. @MikeFierce Says:

It's obvious that she should have been fired. Yes, she's entitled to her freedom of speech, but damn, there is a time and a place! I really want to know why she was so concerned about their matrimony? They def. won't be checkin' for her when she gets married, if that happens.

    I love MsYoung81! Preach, girl!

  16. fuck hypocrite hoes Says:

when I first saw this pic, I thought it was JIm Jones & Busta Rhymes LMFAO!

  17. @WellDamn24 Says:

Chick was homophobic, but that's her business. The point is, if you get an email you want to send out, send it to your personal email address first. Work emails are for work. Now her dumb@ss doesn't have a job 'cause she couldn't wait to talk about some wedding pictures.

  18. @WellDamn24 Says:

    Hahahaha!

  19. @WellDamn24 Says:

I guess gay men like fine men too! LOL

  20. Shaneika Says:

This same email was passed along here at my job and I also work for a college….nothing homophobic was really said…I was moreso trippin' off of the extravagant/tacky wedding. (Let's be honest)…

But yes what she actually said is what got her fired…if u're going to send something like that and have to say something let it be: L-O-L…..PERIOD.

  21. DareLynn Says:

Jamil Smith is my first cousin..his mother and my mother are sisters..We cannot judge these people. These two are very much in love and for people to attack there ceremony is down right foolish. People are entitled to their own opinions but just know these opinions hurt the couple and family. But as always any publicity pays off, and her little email is making them famous! Keep an eye on them because they are very talented and doing BIG THINGS!
