These last few days have proved just how small the music industry can be. Earlier this week, Ciara found herself sitting across from Bow Wow on the set of 106 & Park, and now Ashanti (as the newbie over at Fuse TV) recently had to interview her ex, Nelly, about everything from how he’s evolved as an artist since his Country Grammar debut to what he looks for in a woman… Awkward.

I wonder how hard it is to stay professional in these situations. I was just waiting for her to ask, ‘Why didn’t I get a ring Nelly?!’

Nelly took a break from being T.I.’s best friend and shadow for an interview with VladTV where he talked openly about the probability of marriage. After a recent (non) break up with singer, Ashanti, the rapper seems to have found his happy place with video model, Tae Heckard. But if she’s ever expecting him to tie the knot at her request, she has another thing coming.

the thing about marriage is nobody is going to force me into anything. Nobody is going to rush me into anything. I take marriage very seriously. I only know two ways of marriage. My parent’s marriage did not last at all and my grandparent’s marriage lasted for 60 years.

So I’m either gonna go all the way to 60 or I’m not gonna do it. You see what I’m saying? You’re gonna know when its right. I feel like marriage is something that you just know is right. And it’s just no questions. In order for me to feel like this, I have to have no questions. If I got any questions, I know me; I’m going to play on that.

And eventually that may weigh in on that situation–but do I see myself getting married? Hell yeah. I just think that marriage is something that you should do when you’re ready to do it. via Bossip

Whether hip hop fans like it or not, Nelly has gone super pop with his latest single, Hey Porsche. The track is already grabbing tons of spins on Top 40 radio, and now the St. Louis native has dropped the official video for the song.

Nelly hosted an event alongside model, Delicia Cordon, at The Gold Room in Atlanta over the weekend. Although his relationship with video vixen turned actress, Tae Heckard, has not been confirmed, she was spotted in the building, and by his side the entire night.

After 10 years, I was still holding on to the idea of Nelly publicly claiming Ashanti, but it looks as though the rapper has finally moved on…

Rumor has it, Nelly will be dropping his seventh studio album, M.O., some time this year, and now we have a taste of what that LP just might sound like.

It’s pretty clear that he’s looking to recreate the commercial success of past hits like Just a Dream and Dilemma, but this new track, Hey Porsche, is a little too pop for my liking. I’ve always felt that Nelly was one of the few rappers that could give a song a Top 40 twist without leaving real hip hop fans disappointed, but he’s definitely missed the mark with this one. We already have one Flo Rida, we don’t need another one.

Perhaps taking a hint from his BFF, T.I., Nelly is back on the scene, and bringing that classic sound fans fell in love with him for.

From strip clubs to hood b*tches, and all of the ratchetness in between, the St. Louis native delivers it to us on CNF (Country N*gga Fly). I haven’t really enjoyed much of what Nelly has brought to the table in recent years, but I definitely can mess with this.

Have any of you wondered why Nelly gets so much airtime on T.I’s reality show, The Family Hustle? Maybe it’s just me, but now it looks like his friendship with The KAAANG may come in handy, as the St Louis rapper was recently detained (along with his entourage) for possession of heroin. Share some of those final thoughts, Cliff.

According to law enforcement sources, Nelly’s bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca — and a police canine detected the presence of drugs.

We’re told cops pulled the bus over — and after performing a search, they found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over TEN POUNDS of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag (an amount roughly the size of a large bed pillow).

Cops also say they found a loaded .45 caliber pistol.

I don’t understand what’s up with these rappers thinking that they can now ride dirty because they have a couple 0′s in their bank account. But you gon’ learn ta-daaaaaay! Keep it up, Nelly, and you’ll land yourself in one of those California heroin treatment programs.

Although it seems like Nelly has been laying pretty low lately, he actually has a lot going on (well, besides still denying his relationship with Ashanti). Last night, the St. Louis emcee dropped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to break it all down.

Nelly touched on everything from his upcoming reality show, The Next, to being part-owner of a St. Louis trade school, his new music, and yes, even his unexpected love for Bridezillas. After the interview, he wrapped up his appearance with an impromptu performance of Hot in Herre with houseband, The Roots.
