Chris Kelly, member of the legendary rap group, Kris Kross, was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home yesterday at the age of 34. The cause of death was unknown at the time, but according to police reports obtained by TMZ, a drug overdose was likely the reason for his untimely passing.

According to the report, paramedics initially responded to Kelly’s Atlanta home around 3 PM EST after his mother called 911 asking for medical assistance.

When help arrived, paramedics found 34-year-old Kelly lying on the living room couch — unresponsive and with “no life signs.” The medics attempted to revive Kelly, to no avail.

Kelly was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

After the death, cops spoke with Donna Kelly Pratt — Chris’ mother — who told police … the night before Kelly’s medical emergency, he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine — commonly known as “speedballs.”

Donna told police she had personally taken Kelly home to recover from the drug use … just as she had done several times before. Donna told cops Kelly had felt nauseous all morning before passing out.

According to the report, Kelly’s mother and Kelly’s uncle both told investigators the rapper had an ‘extensive history of drug use.’

Kelly’s mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, has released a joint statement with Kris Kross’s former label, So So Def

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1. To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trendsetting, backwards pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross who loved making music. But to us, he was just Chris – the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party. Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him.

Jermaine Dupri took to his Global 14 website early this morning to release a letter to the fans calling Chris, The son he never had

JermaineDupri2 500x278 Jermaine Dupri Talks Kandi, Cheating On Janet & Frank Ocean Coming Out

Jermaine Dupri stopped by Power 105′s The Breakfast Club this morning to talk about his upcoming So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert, Bow Wow going in on Kandi, not being mentioned in the same conversation as other music moguls like Jay-Z, and P. Diddy, whether or not cheating ended his relationship with Janet Jackson, and how he believes Frank Ocean’s coming out was just a marketing ploy.

On his Janet Jackson tattoo:

Janet’s a part of my life that means a lot… I’m tattoo’ed up, not to mention, every part of me is tattooed. Before I had a tattoo, my mother said ‘Why you got all these white people on you that you don’t know?’ That’s a crazy question if somebody ask you that. It just hit me one day… I date somebody that’s famous. Let me make a tattoo.

Jermaine Dupri Miss Jia Broke Sh*t: Jermaine Dupris Home Goes into Foreclosure TWICE?

Who knew that Jermaine Dupri had issues with money management?

Maybe his former flame, Janet Jackson, can be of assistance.

Via TMZ:

Jermaine’s house came within inches of the auction block back in September — after he allegedly failed to make $193,404 in mortgage payments — but the producer successfully staved off the foreclosure sale, claiming the bill was erroneous.

But after Jermaine again allegedly failed to cough up payments, a new auction date was set for January 2nd.

And once again, Jermaine rescued his home — filing an emergency motion just days after Christmas, insisting the foreclosure company has continually failed to prove that Jermaine actually owes the money it claims he does.

The company claims he owes roughly $410,000 on the home — Jermaine insists he only owes $111,845.

The judge sided with Jermaine — despite the producer admitting in the court docs that he hasn’t made a mortgage payment since November 2011 — and canceled the auction.

A hearing on the debt dispute has not been scheduled yet.

Jermaine Dupri Thinks Frank Ocean Could Save R&B....

…and that MIGHT be true if Frank actually considered himself an R&B artist.

JD took to his website to talk about his excitement for Channel Orange.

When I saw the # that Frank Ocean is suppose to hit next week, I got extremely Happy,I said I need to get in my car and and listen to this album,by the time I got to “Sweet Life” I was even more happy, finally!! a RnB album that’s hip, with out having the same 5 rappers on every song,I actually hope he hits 200k,for the sake of RnB,it’s in the worst position it’s ever been since I started making music,The Record company’s don’t believe in it,Radio won’t play it if it don’t have a rapper, and a majority of the artist that are labeled RnB,are confused and lost,so I repeat,I hope Ocean sells more than the 125k that he’s on pace for, maybe these executives u’llwake the fuck up,or at least try to copy what he’s doing, like they always do, by the way,the end of “Pyramids”jammin like a mufucka.

JD knows not what a single period is, does he?

I think that Frank has the potential to definitely put a dent in some of the stale music of today but an R&B savior? Not hardly, especially since CO isn’t even considered an R&B album.
