A few days ago, Cassie boldly posted the above photo to her Instagram account of a magazine article featuring Avril Lavigne, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Chloe Sevigny, and Rihanna all rocking the half-shaved hairstyle with the caption:

All the rage? Word? Who knew?

Many felt that Cassie was throwing slight shade, while claiming to be the originator of the half-shaven hairstyle she’s been rocking for the past few years. A few fans gave Cassie her props and admitted the hairstyle didn’t become popular until she decided to do it, but Rihanna’s fans quickly went in on the Bad Boy singer/model and let her have it…

Cassie later denied the caption was shade and blocked half of Rihanna’s Navy (apparently she missed a few because they are STILL posting comments)…

This is funny. I don’t post things that hate on other people at all. I think Rihanna is one of the baddest and kills that cut. I’m happy and proud to be part of the rage and yeah…. You get deleted when you say some ignorant ass shit.

Although many names can be thrown out as far as who started the actual trend (Salt-n-Pepa, Kelis… hell, Britney Spears), but do you think Cassie is responsible for it’s popularity?… Or is she reaching? Post your thoughts!

Yesterday, Fabolous released his new mixtape, Soul Tape, and among the 12 tracks was a remix to Rick Ross’ Diced Pineapples featuring Cassie, and Trey Songz. Although I’ve never been a fan of Cassie’s voice, I think she did this track justice.

Teyana Taylor, J. Cole, Wale, Joe Budden, and Pusha T are all featured on the mixtape available here for download.

It looks like Rihanna’s not the only one getting glammed up for V Magazine lately.

You can find Cassie inside the Winter ‘Girl Power’ issue of the mag, rocking a serious cat eye and a sexy red lip. Along with the gorgeous photos, there’s also a short Q&A with the Balcony singer in a section dubbed ‘Girls of Now.’

Although she’s already admitted her ‘interest’ in the ladies was merely a ploy for publicity, Nicki Minaj clearly had no problem getting up close and personal with Cassie in their upcoming video, The Boys.

Nicki took to Twitter to share the above, racy photo with her followers, as well as a short, behind-the-scenes video.

No word when the official clip will drop, but the song is set to appear on the re-release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (The Re-Up), which will hit stores November 19. After the break, check out the short clip PLUS her appearance in the collab with Justin Bieber for Beauty and a Beat!

When it comes to Cassie, I’m here 100% for her modeling endeavors (you can’t deny the girl is GORGEOUS), but I just don’t see it for her music career. That doesn’t stop her from trying, though.

Balcony features Young Jeezy, and is the latest cut from Diddy’s main chick. You may remember hearing an unfinished, leaked mix of the song earlier this year, but Cassie has now released the official version. If you’re interested, you’ll be able to find it on her upcoming mixtape, Rock-A-Bye Baby.
