Suzie Kenya 500x251 The Basketball Wives are Back at it: Suzie & Kenya Food Fight in L.A.

And so it begins…

Taping has officially begun on the fifth season of Basketball Wives, and apparently so has the drama.

Via TMZ:

“Basketball Wives” stars Suzie Ketcham and Kenya Bell got into an all out physical brawl on set last week … that started when one threw a plate of meatballs at the other.

Sources close to the production tell TMZ that the fight went down at a restaurant in L.A. where the cast was taping an episode for season 5 — in which Kenya (who was fired last year) was temporarily brought back to settle her beef with Suzie.

But it didn’t go as planned … OR DID IT??? We’re told the two got into a heated verbal exchange … which quickly escalated when Suzie threw her plate of meatballs across the table, striking Kenya.

According to our sources, Kenya fired back by lunging at Suzie and then punches were thrown on both sides. Producers were forced to step in and break it up.

Suzie and Kenya definitely weren’t who I expected to be brawling (and especially not with Italian food), but I guess with Evelyn straying away from the whole violence thing, producers will take what they can get.

Will you guys be tuning in to the new season, or are you over it?

bbwla1 500x375 Basketball Wives Finale, Reunion (Part I) + Evelyn & Shaunie Respond to Glorias Comment

Last night was the season finale of VH1′s Basketball Wives LA. The season ended with a little taste of drama with Draya and Brooke working to iron out their differences and a bunch of little things in between. If you missed that, you check it out below.

Immediately after the finale’s airing, we got a chance to watch part one of the reunion special where the ladies get to air out more of their grievances and hopefully snatch a few wigs on command.

One of the most interesting parts of the reunion (besides Bambi’s tragic wardrobe & Malaysia’s cleavage…amen) was when Gloria Govan commented that if it weren’t for her, there would be no LA installment of Basketball Wives. And of course this brought about a reaction on Twitter.

Evelyn Lozada expressed her thoughts on Gloria’s comment with Shaunie O’neal later cosigning.

Oop!

I’m not that big of a fan of Gloria’s. She comes across as a pretty chick with a smart ass mouth who wouldn’t know how to back it up if Uncle Luke showed her how. A lot of people classify her as real, but I just don’t see it. What did you guys think of the reunion last night? Of course if you missed it, you can check it out below!

Photo: Jackie Christie Rocks a Bikini, Has Been Working on Her Fitness

Three Track Jack (the name that I affectionately gave Jackie Christie during her stint on Basketball Wives LA because she absolutely refused to use more than three tracks of hair for real volume) has been seriously working on her fitness. The wife and mother was spotted out at Brooke Bailey’s pool party looking more fit than ever. Come on, obliques! According to The Jasmine Brand, Jackie has been drinking a lot of water, eating better, and working out with a personal trainer to achieve her current look.

I gotta give it to her…her body is smooth as hell and she doesn’t look that bad in the bikini! Although there are rumors surrounding her getting kicked off the show, she seems to be in good spirits. Can’t be too mad at that.

What do you guys think of Jackie in her two piece?

JenEv In Case You Missed It: Basketball Wives Reunion, Part II

Last night’s airing of Basketball Wives reunion was interesting, to say the least.

The ladies made what I would call a last ditch effort to save their asses and sponsorships by having all these “ah-ha” moments that they probably should’ve had several episodes ago. Shaunie tried to play mediator between the Jen & Evelyn situation, but only made herself look foolish. For her to pretend as though she had no idea what the backlash of these ladies actions would be is unreal to me. But whatever works for you, honey.

The ‘surprise’ was in the end watching Jennifer and Evelyn hug it out. Although they’ve both done some crazy sh*t to one another throughout the season, the truth is they have been friends for several years and to watch it fall to pieces over the course of a few seasons of a reality show is insane.

Without the drama between the two of them and Tami vowing to slow her roll, I can’t say that I’ll believe that the ratings will remain the same. I can admit that show took on a life of its own, but it was that train wreck that you just couldn’t seem to turn away from.

Check out the full reunion episode after the break and post your thoughts.

Screen shot 2012 05 09 at 5.29.12 PM Tami Roman is Tired of You Bullying Her

Tami Roman wants you to know that just because you see her cuttin’ the fool on national television that it doesn’t give you the right to bully her.

She recently spoke with Jamie Foster-Brown of Sister 2 Sister Magazine where she talked about being misunderstood by fans/viewers of the show.

Waking up to negativity on Twitter, negativity on Facebook, negativity on blogs, it’s emotionally and mentally draining, and things people say because they think they know you for watching you one hour of the week, it can weigh on your psyche.

She then goes on to talk about her upbringing, having issues from her past that make her such an aggressive person, and the negative feedback she receives on Twitter.

The way I’ve dealt with things over the course of my life comes from deep-routed issues. Everybody has to respect the fact that people are going to take the journey and cross bridges when they’re ready to do it. People judge based on how they would handle a situation. They don’t take into consideration how a person was raised. Everybody’s going to handle things differently.

You don’t have to follow me on Twitter. You really don’t. You don’t have to like me on Facebook. You don’t have to do any of that. If you disagree with how I handle something or the way a moment went down, you can say that and you don’t have to call me a b!tc#. You don’t have to call me a lowlife. You don’t have to call me a hood rat. You don’t have to call me out my name to get your point across. I can take any type of criticism as long as you’re respectful to me, but people have a tendency to chastise and belittle us and not really realizing they’re doing the [bullying].

Well, hello pot….

JW Jennifer Williams Getting Sued by Basketball Wives Producers?

Respect her pigeon toed stance, bitches…

Ever since Jennifer Williams received the infamous slap heard around the world, she’s been on a champagne campaign against Basketball Wives and the violence on the show. She recently filed a lawsuit against Nia Crooks, claiming that she was sneak attacked.

All I remember was the nonsense that took place. The assistant/gofer decided to be in full action with her monkey see monkey do self as she snuck a slap from behind. You are a coward if you catch me off guard while sitting down and not to mention a bully!

But now the producers of the reality show are talking about slapping her (no pun?) with a lawsuit, claiming that she’s damaging their brand.

Via TMZ:

Producers are ready to take their own legal action after Williams went on a media rampage and blasted “BB Wives” alleging the show portrays African-American women negatively.

According to our sources, producers feel Williams’ show-bashing is in violation of her contract — which forbids cast members from doing any media appearances or press without approval, or speaking negatively about the show. We’re told they feel she is “ruining the brand” they worked so hard to build.

Can someone please pass the popcorn?

Tami Roman Says Editing to Blame for Negative Portrayal on Basketball Wives

In oh-yea-girl-we-really-believe-that-bullsh*t news, Tami Roman is speaking out against claims that Basketball Wives is nothing but negative Nancy television.

Star Jones called the show’s viewers to action, stating that the show is not a good representation of real Black women.

It may be ‘comfortable’ to be quiet when women of color slap the crap out of each other & run across tables barefoot, but #ENOUGHisENOUGH. About to put together a group of sisters to finally ‘tell the truth’ about the image of women of color in the media.

But Tami Roman is here to let you know that you got it all messed up.

Via S2S:

I think that the opposition to call for the show to be cancelled will end the employment of several African-American women who have no creative control. Why not call out the people who make the decisions about what is aired. Call out Shed Media. Call out VH1 because I will join that battle.

I come with my storyline and things that I want to introduce and lo and behold what they want to show are those dramatic moments. There is more to us. I have thought about leaving,” she said. “I would love to see a season 5 where VH1 and Shed Media are called out to show more positive things that we’re doing and show us how we are 90 percent of the time, instead of how we are 10 percent of the time. I would love to see the brand in and of itself go out on a more positive note

While I understand that heavy editing can play a huge role in the portrayal of each of the women on the show, I’m not sure that I’m 100% ready to say that that’s it. Take responsibility for your actions, ladies. Yes, I tune in just like many of you, but I also know most will do what they hav to do to secure their spot, including jumping over tables.

BW1 500x286 Shaunie ONeal Protects Her Own Ass + Cast Boycotting Reunion Over Jennifers Lawsuit

Drama continues to be a big thing for the cast of Basketball Wives. Jennifer Williams held a press conference today where she talked about why she was filing a lawsuit against Nia Crooks after slapping the DNA out of her during a taping several months back.

Now, Shaunie O’Neal and her emotional nostrils is speaking out about the alleged boycotting, saying that she’s trying her best to keep her nose clean in all of this.

I seriously have a hard time giving Shaunie an approving head nod with these press releases/statements, considering her involvement in the actual development of the show. But if you guys are willing to buy what she’s selling, have at it. No judgements here.

Read her statement after the break!
