As usual, people will have something harsh to say and I feel sorry for your own future if you do. Maia Campbell, daughter of famed author Bebe Moore-Campbell (RIP), was recorded on the streets, strung out and allegedly working as a prostitute. This situation hits very close to home as I am dealing with a VERY close friend who is in the exact same situation. It’s so easy for people on the outside to poke fun and laugh but sometimes you just have to wonder why and hope that they get help soon. It’s very easy to make jokes when it ain’t you.

After the bullsh*t interview that was Chris Brown (conducted by crypt keeper, Larry King), it’s sort of refreshing to see pictures of Rihanna out and about (at Giorgio Baldi Restaurant in Santa Monica), enjoying the fact that Breezy knows how to keep a secret. WHO DOES THAT? I am so annoyed with that interview that it’s pathetic. I rushed home from getting something to eat, set the timer on my TV, the whole 9…only to hear Chris say that he “won’t talk about that. Sorry!” Yea, whatever…I bet my last good bra that Diane Sawyer could’ve gotten it out of him. I mean, anybody that can make Whitney Houston sweat, call crack “wack & cheap,” while demanding that the world “show her a receipt” could DEFINITELY make Breezy speak!

I don’t mind retracting a story if I learn that what I posted was incorrect. I don’t mind making amendments to a blog entry if there were errors in my writing. However, I can’t stand having to post a blog entry to fix a lie. A couple a weeks ago, I posted THIS about Roxanne Shante, a former hip hop star that stated that due to a clause in her contract with Warner Music, she would receive a free education (paid for by them, of course). Come to find out, this girl LIED! What in the I-wanna-be-relevant hell? This doesn’t make any sense at all. Slate.com uncovered the truth…

An investigation by Slate has revealed:

* According to Warner, neither it nor any of its subsidiary record labels ever had a contract with Shanté, and it was not obligated to pay for her education. Indeed, there’s no evidence that it ever did.
* Shanté—real name Lolita Shanté Gooden—doesn’t have a Ph.D. from Cornell or anywhere else. Indeed, she admitted it in an interview with Slate. And Cornell has no record of Gooden (or “Shanté”) ever attending or receiving a degree.
* According to Marymount Manhattan College records, Shanté enrolled there but dropped out less than four months later without ever earning a degree.
* New York state records indicate that no one named Lolita Gooden or Roxanne Shanté is licensed to practice psychology or any related field.
