Thanks for everyone who participated in the contest for a private evening with Ne-Yo celebrating the Champagne Life. It’s always extremely hard to pick a winner but fortunately, I wasn’t the one doing the choosing this time! Check out the winner after the break!

Last night was the airing of My Mic Sounds Nice: The Truth About Women & Hip Hop and I completely forgot about it. One of my Twitter followers requested that it be posted here since she also missed it, so here it is. The documentary brings up a lot of good points about the obvious sexism in hip-hop and briefly talks about some of the crowd favorites from the 80s and 90s. Immediately following the documentary’s airing, there seemed to be a war of words on Twitter on why Nicki Minaj is/isn’t the female hip hop savior:
What are your thoughts on women in hip-hop as a whole? Do you feel that, too often, we are under-represented? Why or why not? And why do you think that so much emphasis is being placed on Nicki Minaj…is it really b/c she’s that hot or b/c she’s the only one (as of now…with a major deal)? Check out parts II and III after the break and post your thoughts!

I don’t know about you but I already loved the song with Usher & Jay-Z but adding the Queen Bee to the track made it even more dope for me. Damn it, can we get an album asap, Lil’ Kim? Check out the remix and let me know what you think! Props to my homies at Lil’ Kim Fan Club for the video link!

I appreciate the relationship for what it was. Even though it didn’t work out, I’m glad we got together. I love her as the mother of my children; we just couldn’t be married. We’re two different people and we have two different goals. It just was never going to work out 100 percent.
Sidenote: It’s some pretty ass teeth in that photo, huh?

R. Kelly is back with a new track/video called When a Woman Loves and I must say…I am loving the old school vibe that this song has. His voice sounds better than ever. Additionally, I am a huge fan of black and white photos and videos. He sounds really good. Have you guys forgiven R. Kelly? I know that a lot of people say that they appreciate the man in the music, not the man BEHIND the music. What do you guys think?
We built a bond that I feel transcended through the screen…
How many of you actually went to go see the movie, Takers, over the weekend? For those who haven’t seen it, please do NOT post any spoilers in the comments area. Nonetheless, everybody’s FAVORITE rapper (mine included), T.I., recently spoke with BET about the movie’s opening numbers and a possible prequel! Nice!
PS: I’ve always hated this damn poster. T.I.’s head looks photoshopped. Somebody could’ve done much better than this.
