The following letter was posted over at Salon.com and was sent by @Mahoghoney! Please read the letter in its entirety (especially YOU, black women) and post your thoughts!
John Mayer,
I had been listening to your music for four hours straight when I heard your now-famous comments about not being attracted to black women, how your “dick is sort of like a white supremacist.”
That’s fine John, because millions of black legs everywhere just snapped shut. They are closed to you. Drape your penis in a white pillowcase for all we care.
In case you missed the first story, you can click HERE for the rundown. The short is…21 year old Xiaoqing experienced a bad breakup with her boyfriend who had an obsession with actress, Jessica Alba. Depress, Xiaoqing decided that if you can’t beat ‘em, you should try to join them and has committed herself to having plastic surgery to duplicate Alba’s looks. This is absolutely sad…I feel bad for her because this is obviously a self esteem issue. She’s cute just the way she is, IMO, BUT…when a person really wants something…
Hmm…so the last time that I did a post about Tiny’s nail bar that opened up in Atlanta recently, I didn’t get a chance to check out the FULL video. I watched the first few seconds and then posted it for you guys to see.
Last night, I was messing around on Youtube, trying to find videos related to nail art (yes, I’m totally obsessed now) and chanced upon the above video (again). At about the :29 second mark, I thought “Those nails look hella familiar.” I immediately think of Poochie, an Atlanta based nail tech who always has the ladies’ hands and feet on point. I go to check out her website (click HERE to see for yourself) and her Facebook page to see if I can figure out why that pic looked so familiar. And this pic was posted on her face book:
Apparently, Poochie did Toya’s nails at one point and Poochie snapped the above photo for her portfolio, while the pic in the video looks like a shot taken with a camera phone. I can vouch for Poochie’z authenticity, as she has been doing my nails consistently since I relocated back to Atlanta. I dunno what YOU guys think but that’s a little foul and a lotta deceptive. You ladies (and gays) better start pulling these folks resumes. smh.
So, there is a new group on Facebook called Ditching the Condom After Turning the Lights Off that has already amassed over 100 members. Although very few, it’s still sickening (and sad) that there are people who are interested in being a part of it. Whatever suits you, I guess but this is a great reason to start leaving the lights on. Click HERE to check it out.
A couple weeks ago, I received some pretty damning emails regarding former Pretty Ricky member, Pleasure P. The first email had two stories in it…one of which was pertaining to a marriage that most people did not know about (click HERE if you missed that story) and the second part of the email talked about allegations of child molestation. The sender directed me to the Twitter page of a man who claimed to have documents and would post them soon. I kept checking the page but after a few days, I let it go since there were no posts regarding the allegations.
A few days after that, a second email came in and this person talked about the molestation allegations AGAIN. At this point I started digging as much as I could and nothing came up. This person promised to send me the documents and again, nothing.
Today, I get yet another email directing me to the Word on the Streets Mag website and the site’s owner, Isis Wisdom, had the same story up that I had been hearing for weeks (FYI, the story was posted on that website FIRST). Sometime after the story broke, a young girl claiming to be the daughter of the lawyer who worked for Pleasure P. posted this twit to Spectacular:
Oh, Sammy! I don’t know whether I’m more disgusted with the fact that he thinks he looks alright or with the idea that he plans on marketing this bullsh*t and may actually make MILLIONS because he’s not the only one with self hate issues. What is we gon’ do?
“I use a cream to keep my skin smooth and soft. I apply it before I go to bed. When I was playing for Chicago all those years, I was in the sun a lot for 1 o’clock games,” said Sosa, who turns 41 tomorrow. “The flashes (from the cameras) also made my skin look lighter. I’m surprised with the controversy this has caused.”
Sosa, who would not tell Dandrades the name of the cream he uses, did say that it is European and that he is in negotiations to market the product. He added that he wears colored contact lenses because he wanted to “try something different. I’m not trying to be superficial.”
I can’t believe how hard he’s trying to convince others (and himself) that he has NO issues with self-hate. Anytime you have a million excuses when asked why you’re making such drastic changes to yourself, it’s questionable.
I spent years in the sun and had skin damage because of it. I’m only rocking contacts to try something different.
Just a quick FYI…if you can count the number of Blacks you have dealings with, even if you are counting by the “pile,” then chances are your a*s is racist. Props to White Girl Gone Crazy for the story!
A white Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have.
