BM Video: Monica Talks About Whitney, Brandy Keeps It Together

Brandy & Monica are two entertainers who have repeatedly named Whitney Houston as their inspiration for getting involved in the music business. While working on the video for their new song, It All Belongs to Me, the twosome sat down with E! News to talk about Whitney Houston and what she meant to each one of them.

Brandy looks stunning in this video, and I genuinely felt bad watching this short interview, as you can see that she was trying to hold it together. She ALMOST lost it but…she held it together quite nicely. Kudos to her. It has to be difficult losing your idol on your birthday.

Check out the interview after the break and post your thoughts.

WendyWhitney Video: Wendy Williams Gets Emotional Over Whitney + Infamous 2003 Interview

After news spread over the weekend of Whitney Houston’s passing, I wondered how Wendy Williams would handle talking about it on her upcoming show.

Wendy took a few moments on her show today to talk about Whitney Houston, her own addictions, and hoping for reconciliation in later years. Although it may be seen as somewhat inappropriate (since it would basically be recanting Whitney’s addiction for the most part), I mentioned that Wendy got her ass handed to her when she spoke with Whitney during that interview. This was a moment that truly left Wendy tongue tied because ANYTHING she said or asked was met with some real sh*t from the Diva.

Watch…what the f-ck…you say!

Wendy, don’t make me meet you outside!

Wendy, you don’t show yourself in the best light but they listen to you.

If I spent that much money (on crack), somebody better give me some receipts for my tax returns!

So many more. You can listen to all parts of the interview HERE.

After the break, check out Wendy’s heartfelt ‘goodbye’ to Whitney (plus notes* for those of you who can’t watch it from your phone/computer right now) and post your thoughts.

header 162062 500x281 Video: Whitney Houstons Last Interview with Access Hollywood + Clive Davis Speaks

By now, many of you have heard of the untimely passing of Whitney Houston yesterday when she was found in a Beverly Hills hotel. Recently, Whitney sat down with Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood where she talked about her upcoming role in Sparkle, her faith, & looking forward to the good years.

On her faith/belief in self:
There will be the ups, there will be the downs, there will be the all-arounds. But your belief, your faith and your determination [and] the encouragers – the people who encourage you to do and be the best you can – it is a blessing.

On her mother & daughter:
I have a mother that’s very strong and family that surround me and constantly tell me they love me. My daughter is my greatest inspiration. My greatest, my greatest. She supports me, she loves me, she gives me good mommy hugs.

On her thoughts about the future:
I’ve got some good saints out there – that’s right – that pray for me constantly. You’ve gotta have that! You do. For those who don’t believe – you do. I’m older, I’m matured… I’m looking forward to the years to come. Good years.

Watch the video below plus video footage of Clive Davis speaking on his protege only moments after her passing after the break!

51563 RIP: Whitney Houston + Personal Note

Right now, I’m sitting in an Atlanta Barnes & Noble taking some much needed time to read and get my goals for 2012 kicked into high gear.

A blog reader just approached me at my table and asked me if I had heard the news about Whitney Houston. When I told her that I hadn’t, she said “Well, check Twitter. She passed away.”

I immediately shrugged it off because if you’re a member of the social networking site, you know that Twitter ‘kills’ a celebrity every single day of the week (just a few days ago, it was Eddie Murphy).

However, a quick search on Google shows that a few of the major news site, such as ABC, CNN, etc., are reporting that it is in fact true….the great singer of “my” generation really has passed away.

heavy RIP: Heavy D Passes Away

Rap legend and self proclaimed overweight lover, Heavy D, has passed away. He was only 44 years old. According to TMZ, the rapper was found in a walkway at his home and was conscious and speaking when paramedics arrived. A short time later, he died at the hospital. No official word on the cause although everybody on Twitter is speculating that it had everything to do with his weight.

Always sad when someone passes away….especially so young. One of my favorite songs/videos by Heavy D was Nuttin’ But Love because I was lightweight obsessed with model, Lana Ogilvie (who appeared in the video). Check out that video plus Now That We Found Love after the break! And post some of your favorites!

0516 mbone ex tmz 01 credit 500x244 M Bone of Teach Me How to Dougie Cali Swag District Dies in Random Drive By

Damn shame! Check out the full story via TMZ + Teach Me How to Dougie after the break!

May he rest in peace!

M-Bone–who was fatally shot last night–was the victim of a drive-by shooting, and it appears to be a random act of violence…law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

M-Bone — aka Montae Talbert from the rap group Cali Swag District — was next to his car in front of an Inglewood, CA liquor store at 11:32 PM Sunday when shots rang out. Our sources say the shooter was driving down La Brea Avenue alone in his car when he fired.

Inglewood detectives are investigating, but right now it looks like M-Bone was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We’re told M-Bone, who became famous with his group for the song, “Teach Me How to Dougie,” was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
