Ne-Yo had a sit down with the good folks over at Hello Beautiful where he talks about his top 4 musical influences, why he never listens to his own music and the rumors surrounding his sexuality that have been circulating for years. I know that, as a man, having to deal with those types of rumors can be annoying. Either or, brotha is one of my favorite male artists because he writes. So many of your favorites have never put a pen to a notebook to write a single song for their 10+ track album. Check out the interview and post your thoughts!

Last night was the airing of My Mic Sounds Nice: The Truth About Women & Hip Hop and I completely forgot about it. One of my Twitter followers requested that it be posted here since she also missed it, so here it is. The documentary brings up a lot of good points about the obvious sexism in hip-hop and briefly talks about some of the crowd favorites from the 80s and 90s. Immediately following the documentary’s airing, there seemed to be a war of words on Twitter on why Nicki Minaj is/isn’t the female hip hop savior:
What are your thoughts on women in hip-hop as a whole? Do you feel that, too often, we are under-represented? Why or why not? And why do you think that so much emphasis is being placed on Nicki Minaj…is it really b/c she’s that hot or b/c she’s the only one (as of now…with a major deal)? Check out parts II and III after the break and post your thoughts!

With youth comes a little bit of ignorance, a little bit of being naive…
1. Montana’s mother is okay with her decision; Laurence is not.
2. She is absolutely NOT trying to rebel against her father at all.
3. She does not have a Twitter page (told you guys that @TanaFishburne page was a fraud).
4. Kim Kardashian is not her career role model.
5. She never was arrested for prostitution.
6. I hate her hair (had to put SOMETHING; I detest odd numbers).
This chick…is truly delusional. Post your thoughts.
And WAIT….did she say that she would have NO PROBLEM with her kids watching her porn video? OMG Somebody commit this chick! The last couple seconds during her interview with Giuliana Depandi gave me LIFE.
Hmm…Foxy Brown recently sat down with MTV to talk about her recent arrest as well as her thoughts on Nicki Minaj:
What’s funny, I actually applaud Nicki for it. I think she’s doing an incredible job of branding herself. When you’re a boss bitch, you give it up. Send her a Chanel bag or something, If you’re winning, you’re wining. That’s just how I see it (Click HERE for the audio).
Definitely give the audio a listen to understand my next point. Maybe I didn’t pay enough attention back in the day to the way Foxy speaks but uh…since when she did talk like that? Before anybody jumps on their high horse, I’m not knocking the fact that she speaks properly but I do not remember her talking quite like this. Between her newfound speech and Nicki Minaj’s where the f-ck did that come from British accent, I’m feeling like I should cop a new voice of my own. Work with me…
Eve recently did an interview where she talks about her upcoming moves in the industry *fist pumps* and a possible future collabo with Lil’ Kim.
When I first got in the game Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown were the top and that was my inspiration!
Eve goes on to say that although she had mad respect for both femcees, they just never got along for some reason. Above it ALL, I am just happy that Eve is working on some new material! I really miss the self proclaimed pitbull in a skirt! Check out the audio and post your thoughts!

Everybody’s favorite rapper or at least that’s the RULE when you visit this blog, T.I. recently had another sit down with Complex Magazine to talk about possibly retiring (and the crowd boos), how his focus has changed since being released from prison and WHY he raps about using knives now! I swear, I questioned that sh-t myself!
It’s within your rights to do anything to protect your well-being, right? That’s well within the law. If my life is being threatened, I have every right, legally, to protect my life and my loved ones. So that wouldn’t be getting in trouble at that point. Everybody takes everything so literal and so…I don’t know. You could spit on the concrete in public and get the same reaction: “Oh, I thought Tip was done getting in trouble. What is he doing spitting on the concrete? What is he doing jaywalking?” The best thing I can do is continue to live my life the best way I know how.
You can read more of T.I.s in-depth interview HERE.

I had a long hard day yesterday and decided to take a nap, not realizing that I’d be missing Usher’sBehind the Music special on VH1. When I woke up, I saw everyone (on Twitter) talking about how ‘good’ and in depth it seemed to be. Of course, he talked about the usual (Chilli & Tameka) but he also talked about his earlier years while working with Diddy. I enjoyed it! Check it out if you missed it last night and post your thoughts!
