Lauren London Vibe Vixen 1 Miss Jia 414x600 Lauren London Covers Vibe Vixen: Talks Privacy, Pregnancy & Marriage

Lauren London is one busy lady these days. She’s taken on a lead role on BET’s hit series, The Game, she’ll co-star in the upcoming film, Baggage Claim, and of course, she’s focusing on raising her four-year-old son, Cameron. In between all of that, Miss London recently took some time to chat it up with Vibe Vixen, and you can find her gracing the cover of the latest issue.

Inside, the ATL star opens up about maintaining her privacy, her pregnancy, and her thoughts on marriage.

On her privacy:

I was always a private person. My business is my business. I have a small group of friends, and I just like the simple things out of life. My privacy is something that I value. I’m also socially awkward.[...] I get nervous in large crowds. I’m approachable though because I’m just like you. I just have a different job.

On how her family took her pregnancy:

Well, you know, it’s another human being in the world. That affects everybody, and one thing I learned about life is that your choices don’t just affect you, it affects everybody connected to you.

On marriage:

I think it’s awesome when it’s done right. I don’t think anyone is supposed to be alone, you know. Having a partner and having somebody that is with you through the ups and downs is awesome. I’m all about connection. If I connected with someone and met a nice guy maybe, but I just haven’t ran into that yet.

Kim Kardashian Feet Miss Jia 500x476 Girl, Give it Up! Kim Kardashians Pregnancy Feet are on Swole

Can someone in Kim’s camp please help the girl make some better footwear decisions?

The reality superstar grabbed lunch in L.A. yesterday, showing off her baby bump in a chic white dress, and cutting off the circulation in her feet with some extra tight, clear sandals. Yes, it is nice to see that Kanye’s baby mama has ditched her signature stilettos for shoes with more of a sensible height…now only if she’d do the same with the width.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m completely here for trying to look stylish while with child; but, this is not it. Nothing about this is cute, Kim. In fact, my feet hurt just looking at the photo.

Miss Kardashian may have never in her life traded style for comfort, but girl, it’s about that time!

“Don’t you ever, ever bend or break because of who you are.”

From that point, the idea of convention versus non-convention or mainstream versus indie or any of those quote-unquote ‘conflicts’ has never crossed my mind.

Dwyane Wade 2 Miss Jia Yearn or Burn: Dwyane Wades Polka Dot Capris

When it comes to his style, Dwyane Wade has had some questionable moments in the past, and once again, the Miami Heat star wore an ensemble that left a lot of folks saying, ‘Hmmmmmmmm….’

D. Wade showed up to last night’s playoff game against the Bulls in a polka dot, Gucci suit, complete with capri length pants. As usual, Twitter was abuzz with ruthless commentary about his fashion forward(?) look and exposed ankles.

Now there’s nothing wrong with a man being comfortable with his sexuality, but personally, I don’t know if I could deal with the fella in my life rocking such a feminine look. What do you guys think? Are you feeling Dwyane’s suit, or should threads like those be left on the runway? Sound off!

Nicki Minaj Teen Vogue 1 Miss Jia 444x600 Nicki Minaj Covers Teen Vogue

American Idol judge and pop-star/rapper, Nicki Minaj, has landed on the latest cover of Teen Vogue. In the June/July issue, she opens up to the younger audience, comparing the music industry to high school, speaking on how to stay positive, and what it was like moving a lot as a kid.

On the music industry:

“People treat this business like it’s high school,” she tells Teen Vogue. “It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.”

On staying positive:

“I used to read the bad things people said about me,” says Minaj, a regular on Twitter. “Then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power. I tell teens, if you’re having a problem, there’s nothing wrong with deleting your social media. If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it’s poison.”

On moving around as a child:

“Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends. I dreaded it. I had butterflies in my stomach each time: Are people going to like or hate me? … Sometimes there’d be a fight, sometimes not. I let people know I wasn’t going to be pushed around,” she tells Teen Vogue.

716dc4f5 ff5c 4aa7 b217 8bf9ef551b20 zps50c6352f Evelyn Lozada & Daughter, Shaniece, Talk Mother/Daughter Bond With Rolling Out

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada, covers the latest issue of Rolling Out Magazine along with her 19-year-old daughter, Shaniece.

Besides taking some gorgeous pictures for the publication, the mother/daughter duo open up about their tight-knit relationship, including how Ev’s domestic abuse situation helped bring them even closer.

Tell us about the bond between the two of you. You really seem to genuinely enjoy spending time with each other.

Shaniece: I enjoy her company a lot; she’s my best friend.

Evelyn: Yeah, we are best friends … especially over the past eight, nine months, where we have been connected at the hip. We are always together, and even when one of us is away, we constantly check in with each other. But that’s how it has always been between us since the beginning. Even though I had her young, I always made sure that she knew I was mom, but that she could also come to me and confide in me about anything. So yeah, we’re besties.

Shaniece, as you reflect on the relationship that you have with your mother, can you think of a time when you were really proud of her, and were proud that she was your mother?

Shaniece: When she left her domestic abuse relationship, I was really proud of her. I felt like she stood up for herself, and I think that she set a good example for other women. I knew that she had it in her, but I don’t think that everyone else did, so I’m really proud of her for that.

Before this moment, have you let her know how proud of her you are for that?

Shaniece: Yeah, she knows … and we’ve been together since then.

Evelyn: We were literally together for eight months since that happened [crying] … I even slept with her. After everything happened, and my life was upside down, it was tough because I had to live all of that out in the public … everybody had an opinion, and even now I’m sure there will be some people who say “b—-, you’re still crying over that?” … but she went through that with me from the beginning. She went to the hospital with me.

Shaniece: It was crazy, because I wasn’t even supposed to be there. I was living in L.A. and she was living in Miami, and I just happened to be there when it happened.

Evelyn: She was on vacation, and she was home when the situation happened, and it was very humiliating for me to have her see me like that. It was probably one of the biggest low points of my life — especially because I’m so protective of her. I’m mom, and I’m supposed to be strong, so it was hard to have her see me like that … so we were literally connected at the hip from that point on.

You can check out the full Q&A session over at Rolling Out, and make sure to peep the photos from the issue below.
