Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Carter! Make your money…grow your money!
Hip-hop mogul JAY-Z made a rare public appearance with his wife BEYONCE in New York on Thursday (11Mar10) to launch a new basketball arena project in Brooklyn.
The couple attended the official launch ceremony at the site of the New Jersey Nets’ new stadium, a $4.9 billion 18,000-seat venue which is slated for completion by 2012.
Jay-Z, a co-owner of the team since 2004, spoke of his pride at seeing his beloved Nets, currently based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, get a new home at the Barclays Center.
He told the crowd, “What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn, New York City. I’m a son of Brooklyn, I’m from Marcy projects. I think about growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking I can make it to the NBA (National Basketball Association). Now I stand here as an owner of (a) team that’s coming back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I’m very happy, very excited about this day.”
I missed the airing of Justin Dior CombsSweet 16 but the internet has made it possible for us all to see. I swore off shows like this because quite frankly, it’s like they’re laughing in my face about how fabulous their life is! LOL My ego can only take so much! I like Lady Gaga but I don’t think that I stan for anyone enough to pay this much for a deluxe set. Here’s a list of what’s included:
The Fame Monster, in three different versions – a standard version of the new 8-song album; a deluxe version which includes both The Fame Monster and her massively successful debut album The Fame; and this collector’s edition super-deluxe art book version, which includes both albums, fanzines, 3-D glasses, paper dolls, a puzzle, pictorials, a lock of Lady Gaga’s hair and other surprises.

I forgot that it was the start of a new month, so apparently The Hunt for the Red October is in full effect in Soulja Boy’s world. Apparently, S-Beezy is a little miffed that people had something to say about his excessive spending (which he now says was a gift, and not something he purchased for himself). But here’s my thing…I could almost feel where he’s coming from in the posted rant (after the break) if he spent just as much time posting photoshopped pics of charitable efforts as he did of his face, chains, and johnson. I’m no hater b/c it’s quite obvious that I don’t have nearly as much money as he does. I’m just saying…don’t get b*tchy when people call you an excessive spender who does little to nothing for those in need if there isn’t any proof to back it up. Bow Wow made a similar argument a couple days ago but I say that if you want bloggers to know what it is that you’re doing to help out, post THAT sh*t on Youtube and Twitter instead of what you do and maybe at some point, we’ll begin to believe you. I mean, word? Soulja Boy debuted his new remote controlled chain on Twitter and I swear, it doesn’t get any more ig’nant than this. I ain’t one for telling folks how to spend their change but of ALL the things that money can be spent on, we’re wearing remote controlled whips around our neck now? Rihanna was spotted headed out clubbin’ with some of the scariest a*s nails I have ever seen in my life. Who is advising this chick on the latest nail trends? Now, I generally stan for Rihanna (despite what @F*ckKeriHilson might say lol) but I can’t get jiggy with those nails! Oooh and the top?
