Brooke Crittendon, the first ex that Kanye West had (well, that most of us know about) has allegedly spoken out about the rapper’s insecurities, his obsession with Kim Kardashian, and how she feels the relationship just won’t last.
On Kanye being secretly insecure and terrified she would leave him:
“He was not macho — he needed you to be with him and needed your opinion. He was quite vulnerable. He was insecure as he couldn’t be with me every day. I got the impression he worried he wasn’t good enough for me. He needs people to tell him he is good and that he is needed and wanted. He wouldn’t start his show unless I was at the side of the stage. One night the show was delayed because he couldn’t find me. He refused to go on till I’d told him it was going to be OK.”
On Kanye finding his equal in Kim Kardashian:
“For Kanye, what other person besides Kim Kardashian is there? There’s Halle Berry, J-Lo and Beyonce but they are all taken. She fits into his brand. Part of being untouchable is having what other people want. It’s about saying, ‘Everybody wants her and she wants me’. That makes sense in Kanye’s world. I know he has had a thing with her for a while. I’m sure he watched her tape. After we broke up, we caught up as friends and he mentioned her, I knew something was there. In Hollywood, you cannot say ‘forever’. Them being together satisfies them for now. Having a baby ticks a box. She wanted kids and it’s his legacy.”
On Kanye playing the field during their relationship:
“I was very naive. I was a normal girl and in my life you meet a guy, you go on three dates and that’s your boyfriend. But he was a superstar and it got too much for me to handle. I was never OK being one of many — or even one of a few. There was a lot of attention from other women. Kanye was very open and honest but it ended up with me knowing too much. I don’t want to be silly and say it wasn’t cheating because I knew about it.”
On Kanye being inspired by Jay-Z to settle down:
“He admires Jay-Z and they are very close. Over the years Jay has been a role model to him. Whether it is starting to be more mature, taking chances with clothes or getting married and starting a family, ultimately he takes those cues from Jay.”
Keeping up with The Kardashians via reality television:
“I watched the show when he made Kim throw away all her old clothes. I see why something like that could be demeaning — robbing her of her individuality. There was a pressure on me to change overnight, to be a certain way, to dress a certain way. But the Kardashians are accustomed to that anyway. I was just a normal girl. I was surprised to see him appear on that Kardashian show at all. I think the decision to not feature the baby is him putting his foot down. But that’s her family’s business. So to say the kid is not going to participate in the family business — we’ll see how possible that can be.”
Whew! She truly spilled a little bit but the majority of what she said was things that most of us assumed already about Kanye.
On another note, remember way back when when Amber Rose and Reggie Bush were a thing? She said that this allegedly happened because Kim and Kanye were caught bumping uglies while Amber was with ‘Ye and Kim was with Reggie.
Well, Consequence and the mother of his child, Jen the Pen (both of Love & Hip Hop New York), recently sat down with the Breakfast Club, and when asked if they’d be supporting Kim and Yeezy and their new pregnancy (via baby shower gift), Jen had some pretty interesting shit to say. According to her, Amber wasn’t lying at all, as they helped Kanye hide the fact that he was sleeping with Kim during her relationship with Reggie Bush.
Skip to the 3:30 mark to watch Jen go!
Skip to about 4:45 to watch her snitch about Kim’s cheating!
She sounds REALLY upset about not receiving a gift from Kanye. Girl, build a bridge and get the hell over it.
