With the new season of American Idol set to debut next week, it seems like focus has quickly shifted back to the on-set drama between new hosts, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

Last night, Entertainment Tonight’s Rocsi Diaz sat down with Mimi for a bit of an exclusive, asking the diva just how messy things got between the two.

I can’t even discuss those types of things. Here’s what I meant by messy moments. You just have to adapt, and I think my thing is, I have to be myself. And if that means in that moment I don’t hear you, I don’t see you, you don’t exist to me at this moment. That’s what it is.

Welp, there you have it. I swear I’ll be tuning in at least a few times this season just to catch all of the shade we already know Mariah will be throwing!
