The NFL confirmed yesterday that Beyonce will in fact be the half-time performer during The Super Bowl on February 3rd at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. This will be her first time performing at the Super Bowl since she sang the national anthem back in 2004 when the Super Bowl was in her hometown of Houston for the New England Patriots’ win over the Carolina Panthers. This will also be the first Championship game in New Orleans since Katrina damaged parts of the Superdome in 2005.
Looks like the NFL is trying to play it safe this year and I don’t blame them after years of controversial half time performances. There will be no nip slips and middle fingers from King Bey and millions of people with no interest in football at all will be front and center for this one.
