I’m not even going to lie to you guys today. Last night’s episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta didn’t ‘wow’ me like the others had in the past. I pretty much had my face in my iPad for most of the night, and was sorely disappointed when Stevie J didn’t provide me with a new ‘face’ for the week.
During the beginning of episode 9, Joseline has somewhat of a breakthrough with the therapist counseling the love triangle. She talks about growing up on her own and not really having a mother figure to help guide her through. She also says that she feels that this is part of the reasons she’s so attached to a man like Stevie J. Although she says that she needs to let him go, recent snaps from the paps show that this will never happen.
Erica decides that she wants to meet up with Scrappy to confront him about the information K Michelle shared with her regarding Francine being at his mixtape release party. Scrappy swears that the two are just friends, but the outsiders are definitely in the know. Scrappy can’t even be honest with himself, so the expectation that he’ll be honest with Erica is a bit far fetched, IMO.
Joseline decides that she wants to confront Stevie J. Since she hadn’t seen or heard from him since the infamous therapy beatdown, she decides to stop by Benzino’s house (where Stevie has been staying) to confront him. Benzino then offers her a ghetto counseling session where he lets her know that she needs to learn to deal with Stevie on a business level and separate the personal.
Bee-Eye-See-Tee-Ayche….and in THAT order!
Scrappy decides to have a sit down with Momma Dee to talk about the conversation he had with Erica. As we all remember from the ‘asthma’ episode, Momma Dee is not here for Erica, but Scrappy feels that there’s more to Erica than she’s willing to see. Momma Dee seems to be want Scrappy to tap into his ho side, but Scrappy seems to have other plans.
Erica meets up with Rasheeda (whose storyline I won’t recap in this post because it’s the exact same shit every week) to talk about Scrappy’s misgivings. Erica says that she feels that Scrappy is going to end up just like his mother…a different “love” in his life every week to fill voids. Even though Erica shed a few thug tears during her meetup with Scrappy, she seems hell bent on finally putting things to an end.
Karlie Redd meets up with Benzino to talk about the recent changes in their relationship. According to her, Benzino has gone from hot to cold, and she feels that her management’s comments about him being a ‘has been’ played a role in it. Benzino tells her that he feels that Karlie cares more about her career than their relationship. I’m not sure why he would expect that she put her career in the back burner for the sake of a maybe relationship, but he seems pretty convinced that she should.
After watching her one woman show, Rasheeda has a sit down with K Michelle where they talk about the abuse that she says that she faced at the hands (no pun) of Memphitz. Rasheeda feels the need to question K Michelle’s allegations because she’s really good friends with his wife, Toya Wright. K Michelle becomes emotional during the conversation, asking why it’s never enough for a woman to simply believe another woman when she says that a man laid hands on her. The scene ends with K Michelle in tears and walking away from the conversation.
Stevie J failed to give me a face last night, so this is all I got for you guys.
Next week is the season finale and then we’ll finally get a chance to see the reunion. Now, THAT’s the tea I’m waiting on! Post your thoughts.
