*Please note that the opinions reflected in the “Dear Celebrity” section may (or may not) be the opinion of Miss Jia! In other words….I DID NOT WRITE THIS or any Dear Celebrity letter to follow! Re: Melyssa Ford Goes In…

Dear “Self-Lebrity”( because you’re only a celebrity to ya damn self!) Melyssa Ford,

Sigh! I have read your Vibe interview about Essence Magazine’s latest issue, and my first thought is you should have paid closer attention in your reading comprehension class. The point YOU constantly stress that makes you sooo different from other videos models, is that you did the videos to pay for college, and yet, you seem to have a problem reading simple english.

The Essence cover states “What makes black men happy (and faithful)” not, “How to keep a black men happy and faithful.” I believe if anyone should be upset, it should be black men. I am so sick and tired of this image of the angry, never satisfied, unfaithful black man; and black men should be too. Your response was so defensive, and you are just keeping the stereotype of it being the woman’s fault for men’s shortcomings alive. There is nothing wrong with a woman trying to better herself, by being a better partner for her man, and getting to know what makes her man happy. If your man is being all he can for you, why can’t you be all you can for him?

YOU ARE THE HYPOCRITE! Ms. Jessica Rabbit, in one breath you’re blaming society for it’s poor image of women and celebrity, but your butt and chest cannons are always on front street. You are the definition of an Elitist! Since you first hit the scene you’ve been screaming you’re better than your fellow video models. News Flash Melyssa Fraud, a degree doesn’t make you better than anybody else, and exactly how are you putting that degree to use any way? No, I’ll wait.

You want to represent yourself as a role model, you can’t prove you deserve something by knocking others down. We as black women have to STOP attacking each other! You aren’t perfect either, just ask Denyce Lawton. I have to words left for you Melyssa….DO BETTER!
